Registration in this workshop is required, and is generally limited to currently-appointed UBC postdoctoral fellows. Interested registrants will be confirmed on a first-come first-served basis with minor preference given to more senior postdocs. Successfully registered postdocs will receive a confirmation email from the PDFO within one week prior to the workshop. All cancellations must be received no later than 24 hours in advance of the workshop.

This workshop for UBC PDFs features Dr. Jeffrey Richards, who will be drawing upon his experience to provide an overview of effective NSERC grant writing and outline keys for success. This session is tailored to NSERC application writing.

Dr. Jeffrey Richards
Dr. Jeffrey Richards is a Professor in the Department of Zoology. He runs an active research program with 2 post-docs and 8 graduate students with a focus on understanding the physiological and biochemical adaptations to low oxygen tolerance in animals. He has held NSERC discovery grants, an NSERC accelerator supplement, a collaborative research and development grant, a strategic grant, and several research tools and instruments grants. His teaching responsibilities include Introductory Biochemistry and an advanced course in Biochemical Adaptation.
