Applications for a postdoctoral fellowship are invited for conducting fundamental and applied research at the Institute of Chemistry – UNESP in Araraquara, Brazil; http://www.iq.unesp.br.
The Photonics Materials Lab has more than 25 years of experience in synthesis and characterization of glasses, optical fibers and photonic materials. The laboratory is fully equipped with all new technologies for research on glasses.
The period of the fellowship is thirteen (13) months, starting from March 2019. The monthly fellowships (non-taxable) include ca. R$ 7.373,10-plus 15% professional expenses. Travel expenses from and to their home countries will also be covered. The postdoctoral research will be focused on the development of new probes combining electrical and optical detection. The candidate need to develop an appropriate glass material composition to produce optical fiber presenting good electrical and optical properties. Applicants should have a PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering, and have a genuine interest in conducting interdisciplinary research in an international environment. Previous experience in glass science, solid state physics or chemistry is advantageous. Please send your application including CV, list of publications, a 2-page research proposal, and the names and email addresses of two references by September 22, 2019 to Prof. Younes Messaddeq (Younes.Messaddeq@copl.ulaval.ca).
