The School of Nursing at Laurentian University invites applications for a tenure-track Faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, with teaching assignments in French nursing programs. The preferred start date is July 1, 2023.
about the position
The successful candidate will teach primarily in the French Nurse Practitioner program, but may also be called upon to teach in the other francophone nursing programs. Candidates must have demonstrated potential as a researcher and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. In addition to active engagement and participation in teaching and research, the successful candidate will be expected to make contributions through service to the School, Faculty, University, and broader community.
essential qualifications
- Fully bilingual in French and English.
- Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Ontario (registered nurse extended class), or in another jurisdiction with the intention to receive a NP license in Ontario prior to commencing this position.
- Completion of a PhD degree in nursing or related field is preferred. Suitably qualified applicants nearing completion of their PhD may be considered.
- At least 4 years full time practice as a Nurse Practitioner
- Recent teaching experience at the university level
- Active engagement in scholarship endeavours, including research
