StrokeGoRed National Post-Doctoral Fellowship Awards

Funding competition to support two StrokeGoRed post-doctoral fellowships focused on sex- and gender-based analysis in stroke.

StrokeGoRed is excited to launch a new national training competition, awarding two prestigious post-doctoral fellowship awards (MD/PhD) valued at $30,000 each. These awards aim to support the next generation of experts in neurovascular medicine in Canada, advancing sex- and gender-based analysis (SGBA) in stroke diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.

The fellowship is open to full-time post-doctoral fellows (MD/PhD) training at a Canadian academic institution under the supervision of a Canadian investigator, provided they meet all eligibility criteria.

As a national Research Network of Excellence, StrokeGoRed is committed to advancing women's neurovascular health, increasing the representation of women in research, building research and clinical capacity, and rapidly translating findings into practice through integrated knowledge mobilization.

“The ultimate goal is to train top-tier stroke experts who will advance sex- and gender-based analysis (SGBA) in stroke diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation across Canada,” says Dr. Amy Yu, University of Toronto, and lead of StrokeGoRed. “A core mission of StrokeGoRed is to drive meaningful change in stroke outcomes for women, and by centering this competition on SGBA, we are taking a critical step toward that goal.”
