Postdoctoral Fellow - PRIME Robotics Lab

The PRIME (Perceptive Reasoning and Intelligent MachinEry) Robotics Lab conducts cutting-edge robotics research at the intersection of robotics, perception, and artificial intelligence. Our vision is to develop innovative robotic systems that can interact with and adapt to their environment in a seamless and intelligent manner. We aim to push the boundaries of what is possible in robotics, enabling robots to operate effectively in complex and dynamic environments.

Adi Ferrara

1) Qualitative analysis of Canadian 2SLGBTQ+ youth online focus groups, describing the experience of coming out to parents/caregivers. The study population also included children of first-generation immigrants from South and East Asia. The aim is to create a culturally-appropriate resource site that will help improve parental connectedness and communication during the coming out process.
2) A study of the feasability, acceptability, and impact on the HIV care cascade of a peer navigator program for street-involved 2SLGBTQ+ youth in Vancouver.

sustainable and nature inspired methods for mine tailings stabilization using biocementation technology. I am also also working on biocement material as a way to reduce carbon emissions (CO2) in the concrete and mining industries and promote eco-friendly construction materials.

Chronic pelvic pain affects approximately 15% of all women and an unknown number of transgender and gender-diverse people. It is often dismissed due to the stigma and normalization of pain experienced by women, as well as insufficient chronic pain education among health care providers.
