Objectives
The China Research Fellowship aims to deepen the Government of Canada's knowledge about China, and to foster the development of the next generation of policy-focused China experts who will be at the forefront in academia, government, civil society and business in Canada.
Description
The China Research Fellow will be integrated into the Centre for China Policy Research at Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and will contribute knowledge to the area of China's internal and international policies and policy drivers, and their impact on Canada-China relations through in-depth analysis and research. The fellow will be expected to dedicate about 50% of their time carrying out an extensive research project on a priority China issue and the remaining 50% implementing other priorities for the Centre (e.g. conducting analysis on emerging issues, participating in the policy development process).
This opportunity is ideally suited to post-doctoral researchers early in their career and more established academics alike who wish to pursue a career bridging academia and policy making with a specialization on China. Researchers will be appointed to an EC-05 or EC-06 position depending on their relevant academic and work experience. For applicants affiliated to a Canadian university, Interchange Canada Agreements could also be explored.
